During Game 3 of the Eastern Confrenece Finals, Chicago’s Joakim Noah drops a few profanities and a gay slur.
The NBA gave Noah a $50,000 fine for using “derogatory and offensive term.” Noah has apologized, both after the game Sunday and also during Monday’s media session.
Noah’s mistake came at a time when the issue of homosexuality in the NBA is in the spotlight as never before.
Lakers’ Kobe Bryant was fined $100,000 last month for directing the same slur Noah used at an official. He, too, was caught on national TV.
