First the NFL halts all operations and now the NBA is headed for a lockout also. 

Tonight the current collective bargaining agreement expires at midnight Eastern. According to CBSSports.com, league owners have told the players they will be locked out at that time.

The two sides had been meeting in Dallas for one last negotiating session, but talks have reportedly broken off. The league’s salary cap has been the biggest point of contention in labor talks. 

This would be the first work stoppage in the NBA since 1998.
