Atlanta rapper Lil Scrappy was hospitalized on Tuesday (April 17) after suffering a severe asthma attack.

The rapper tells TMZ he nearly died.

“I damn near died. If it weren’t for my driver, mom, and rap artist I would have been dead,” Scrappy said.

Scrappy, who is just 28 years old, was reportedly partying hard on Monday evening

The 28-year-old says he had been drinking pretty hard Monday night (April 16), and when he woke up Tuesday, he said he barely breath and couldn’t talk — “I felt like I was dying.”

Scrappy was rushed to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, where he was treated and later released.

Concerned by the health scare, the rapper says he now owns a “breathing machine” and vows to take it with him everywhere.

“I will never leave anywhere without it again,” he tells TMZ.
