Floyd Mayweather at the Clippers game six

And the Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Ronda Rousey bout just took a bizarre turn.

Floyd and Ronda have exchanged a few jabs in the past few months, but the boxing giant kept things fairly positive when asked about Ronda’s recent loss to newly-crowned UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Holly Holm.

In an interview with Fight Hype, Floyd said, “I want Ronda Rousey to hold her head up high and don’t let this discourage you. If you need help as far as with boxing, I’m here to help you. It’s all about timing and inches. Her ground game is unbelievable. She’ll be okay.”

But Floyd’s statement was a bit backhanded. In fact, he even offered his services to prevent Ronda losing another fight in the future.

The leader of the Money Team also mentioned how mean people on social media can be, especially during low points: “…People will love you on Friday and then Sunday morning, it’s nothing but negative comments and people making jokes and people making fun about you, which I don’t think is cool,” he said.

For anyone who did watch the fight, it was easy to notice that Ronda just wasn’t in the zone. Usually within the first 30 seconds of a fight she takes charge, setting the tone for the rest of the match. But Holly Holm somehow got into her head, leading to an upset knockout in the second round. Much of the blame can be put on Ronda’s lack of defensive skills.

No matter how far-fetched it might be, a video of Rousey training with Mayweather would provide some comedic gems.
