Rod Wave just got caught up in some serious legal trouble down in Atlanta.

The soulful Florida rapper and singer was arrested on Tuesday (May 20) and hit with 14 felony charges tied to an incident that went down back in April.

According to reports, he was booked in Fulton County and then released the same day on bond.

Among the charges Rod is facing:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Possession of a firearm or knife during a crime
  • Pointing a gun at someone
  • Criminal damage to property
  • Tampering with evidence
  • Conspiracy to commit a felony

The exact details of what happened on April 21 haven’t been made public yet, and both his team and Atlanta PD have stayed quiet so far.

This marks the second time Rod Wave’s been arrested this year. Back in April, he was taken in on a gun charge in Florida, but that case got dropped once they realized there was a mix-up about his criminal record.

He also made headlines in 2022 when he was arrested for allegedly choking his ex-girlfriend — that charge was later dropped too.

Despite the legal setbacks, Rod’s been active in the music game. He dropped his latest album Last Lap in October 2023, followed by a tour that was later canceled in January due to production issues. His most recent single, “Sinners,” dropped April 4.

Right now, there’s no word on how these new charges will affect any future music or appearances, but fans are watching closely.

Stay tuned — this case is far from over.
