Is “Whim Whamiee” the Song of the Summer? Latto, Sexy Redd & Lizzo Jump into the Remix Ring

The summer just got a whole lot hotter, and it’s all thanks to “Whim Whamiee” — the viral hit from Pluto and YK Niece that’s quickly becoming this year’s unexpected anthem.

With its infectious hook (“Shake that ass, ho, whim, whamie”) and raw, unfiltered energy, the track lit up TikTok and club playlists alike. But as the beat goes crazy, the behind-the-scenes drama is just as wild.

At first, it looked like Latto was going to hop on the official remix. The Atlanta rapper had been in talks with Pluto, but once the verse from YK Niece (the original feature) was mysteriously left off the version sent to Latto, the collab fell through.

According to whispers online, Latto wasn’t feeling the move and decided to back out — a move fans speculated had more to do with loyalty and industry politics than music.

Not missing a beat, Pluto locked in with Sexy Redd, who wasted no time bringing her signature raunch and chaos to the remix.

The official video dropped last night, and it’s already making waves with its strip club energy and no-holds-barred visuals. For many fans, Redd’s remix felt like a perfect match for the rawness of the original track.

Then came the plot twist: Lizzo.

The Grammy-winning singer shocked fans by dropping her own freestyle version of “Whim Whamiee” on TikTok, rapping over the same beat with a bold message of body confidence and boss energy.

Pluto not only liked the post, but also commented, fueling rumors that Lizzo might get tapped for an official remix too.

With multiple versions floating around and more artists jumping on the trend, Whim Whamiee is starting to look a lot like GloRilla’s “F.N.F.” which was GloRilla’s breakout song-turned-movement where everybody wants in. Could this be the next all-girl anthem moment?
