SEYMOUR, Ind. — A woman and a toddler were killed after being hit by a tractor Tuesday night on a farm in Jackson County.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened just after 7:30 p.m. in Redding Township, just north of Seymour.

Authorities at the scene learned that a 68-year-old woman and a 4-year-old boy who were related had gotten off of the tractor and then were hit by someone else driving it.

The boy was rushed to a local medical center where he was pronounced dead. The woman was flown to a Louisville hospital where she died early Wednesday morning.

There’s an investigation underway into the incident.
