Today’s Hot Reverse Jam: Skee-Lo “I Wish” (1995)

Skee-Lo (born Antoine Roundtree) was a rapper in the mid-1990s. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in New York City and Riverside, California. He mostly rapped about Los Angeles, specifically the Crenshaw area. Skee-Lo’s single “Top of the Stairs” was featured in the ending credits as well as the soundtrack to the 1995 film Money Train. He had a hit single in the same year with “I Wish”, which reached #13 in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and was hugely successful in much of Europe.
