Yep, this is a wise, wise way to shut up those who thought Kim Kardashian married Kris Humphries just for profit: She’s donating $200,000, twice the worth of her wedding gifts, to the Dream Foundation, according to TMZ. The site obtained a letter reportedly sent to all the guests at her August wedding that reads, “It has taken me some time to pull everything together but I wanted to let you know that the money for every gift received by me at my wedding has been donated to the Dream Foundation.”

Dream Foundation does for terminally ill adults what Make-A-Wish does for kids, granting them everything from dream vacations to paying for their family’s heating bills. A letter from the organization, also obtained by TMZ, says, “Kim felt this was the most fitting way to acknowledge and pay forward your gift with the same compassion and kindness it was intended.”

On the other hand, if we believe that Kim made $18 million for her wedding, this is just a drop in the bucket. But Kim and her family have adamantly denied that she profited from her marital adventure, countering that she spent a lot of her own cash for it.

Was this the proper thing to do? Probably. Though Lizzie Post, editor of Emily Post’s Etiquette 18th Edition told the New York Daily News last year that wedding gifts should be returned after such a short union, but WeddingChannel.com editor Sarah Newell told the paper that donating to charity is an acceptable alternative.

But now we wonder two things: Is Kris Humphries cool with this? And a more answerable question: Does this move buy Kim good will in your eyes? Let us know!
