Producer, DJ and lecturer 9th Wonder is releasing the latest in his series of music compilations, “9th Wonder Presents: Jamla Is the Squad” on January 28th. The album features appearances by his own artists Rapsody, GQ and Add-2, as well as extended family members like Phonte, Talib Kweli, Buckshot, Pete Rock, Styles P and Jadakiss.
The night before its release the crew held a release party and performance at S.O.B.’s nightclub in NYC and TheUrbanDaily.com sat down with 9th Wonder prior to the show to discuss his latest project.
“When I put out ‘The Wonder Years’ and other Jamla compilations before it we were rough around the edges,” he said.” [On this] You can hear the growth in the artists that I have. I’m proud of where we are and what we’re doing.”
