With the premiere of the new reboot of “Roots” happening this week, Snoop Dogg took to the interwebs to air his grievances about the whole affair. He said that he is tired of the constant portrayal of black people as slaves in film and television, and called for new stories to be told about advancements and achievements in our community since then. Though his statements were viewed as controversial, they cannot be completely written off.
